Whether you’re upgrading to a new pair of hearing aids that has better technology (hello, Bluetooth™!), or you have a pair from a relative who has passed on, what to do with old hearing aids is a common question! We’re happy to say that HearingLife will take your used hearing aids and donate them to a good cause, but we have a few other ideas for you too.

Donate your old hearing aids

Donating your old hearing aids can change a life! HearingLife sends donations directly to the Hearing Aid Project, which is the leading charity collector of used hearing aids. The Hearing Aid Project refurbishes or recycles donations and provides them to needy individuals all over the world. HearingLife also accepts donations of old TV adapters, hearing aid batteries, chargers and other accessories.

The Hearing Aid Project is a program of Sertoma International and one where groups like Lions Club send their hearing aid donations as well. We are proud to work with the Project to give used hearing aids a second life. Learn more here. 

Keep them as a spare pair

If the old hearing aids are your own, it may be a good idea to keep them handy in case of emergency. If your new ones need service or the power goes out and you are unable to charge them (and your old ones use batteries), they may still be useful.

Check the return policy

If the hearing aids belonged to someone who has passed on, we extend our sincere condolences. It is worth a call to their hearing care provider to see if they are still within the return window for a refund.

Local groups

If you have a local School for the Deaf or other charities related to hearing, contact them and ask if they accept used hearing aid donations.
